EDUCATOR

Lewis has taught undergraduate courses in Studio Art and Humanities at the University of Louisville, Bellarmine University, and Georgetown College. However, they are also dedicated to making art techniques and theories more accessible outside of institutional academia.

In 2024, Lewis founded CeLOUbrate Print with the Portland Museum, instructing free pop-up woodcut workshops each spring leading up to an annual community printmaking festival. For the project's second iteration, Lewis lead a team of undergraduate students and their professional mentors in curating archival research and local interviews into an accessible Public Humanities project. This project culminated in an exhibition and zine titled "Line Byline: The Makers & Messengers of Louisville Print History" as well as a panel titled "Carrying the Message: The Power of Local Press."

In 2025, Lewis began volunteering as a visiting artist and art instructor at Louisville Metro Department of Corrections, teaching weekly classes in the jail's Chance 4 Change substance abuse recovery program. The following year, they worked with these incarcerated artists to collaboratively produce and curate an art exhibition about their experiences, titled "Human, too."

They are always excited to find new creative and research opportunities for community collaboration. with particular interest in adapting printmaking to be more welcoming and accommodating of new makers and audiences.
